Colombia's digital advertising industry has shown remarkable growth, with projections indicating growth of market volume to reach USD586.3 million by 2028, highlighting the country's expanding digital segment and its appeal to local and international advertisers.
In September 2024, President Gustavo Petro announced the implementation of the ley de los tercios, aiming to allocate one-third of government advertising to alternative, community and digital media. The new rules are intended to diversify industry representation, and challenge traditional narratives, promoting a pluralistic environment.
The RTVC Public Media System continued to expand its reach with the operation of 16 national radio networks, and plans for four additional stations. These stations focus on cultural, musical and informative content, emphasising regional diversity.
